Kids Camp Parent Newsletter Tuesday's Kids Camp Newsletter

Tuesday at Cactus Valley Ranch!

Howdy, parents! Today, your youngsters learned about God’s gift of Courage. The story ‘round the junction campfire was David’s Courage against the Big Bad Man from 1 Samuel 17. I reckon y’all must’ve heard this tale a time or two, but let me sum it up quickly for those who want a refresher. David was a young shepherd boy who stood up to Goliath, a fierce giant who terrified everyone. Now, that took some real grit! Instead of cowering in fear like all the others, David bravely faced his foe head-on, with nothin' but a sling and his faith in God. And wouldn't ya know it, with one swift sling of a stone, David took that giant down!

Now, some folks might think that courage means bein' fearless. But that ain't necessarily true. Even the toughest buckaroos have fears – rattlesnakes, dark nights, and lost cattle. The difference between a coward and a hero is how they face their fears. When we trust in the Lord, we can overcome our worries, no matter how big they seem. Courage is trusting God to overcome fear. That's what David did when he faced Goliath. He knew that the Lord was by his side and that he had nothing to fear.

After learning this powerful lesson today about trust and courage, the young’uns checked the Bible again to study this verse about courage:

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9

Outreach Today: City Relief

Soup is one of our favorite meals at Cactus Valley Junction, and today the young’uns learned all about it. That’s because soup is also a favorite meal of the friends we’re raising funds for at City Relief! They were amazed to find out that one outreach project, like the one we’re fixin’ to provide for, can serve up to 300 friends in need. Y’all reckon that God can take our small offerings of nickels and dimes to feed hundreds? We sure faithfully do. In fact, that reminds me of a story about our Lord Jesus, too!

Comin' Up On Wednesday

Tomorrow is crazy hat & hair day at the junction, and the youngsters have planned to bring in all the dimes they can find for the outreach post. Our lasting lesson from today is this—When yer horse is bucking like a rodeo bull and yer hat is blowing off in the wind, fear might start creepin’ in on ya. But just remember that with the Lord's help and His gift of courage, we can overcome anything. Yeehaw!
